Launch of A Rocha Ambassadors group in Lyon
On Saturday 14 May, a dozen people met in Lyon to think about how to act in their city for the environment. Because the responses to the ecological crisis are multiple, a small brainstorming session made it possible to identify several fields of action such as: activities to protect nature, raise awareness, training or reflection, whether individually, among churches or with Christian associations such as the University Bible Groups (GBU).
Officially launched in January 2021, the Ambassadors Network has two main objectives: 1) to train Christians in ecology in order to promote a transformation of their way of life, and 2) to connect Christians to enable them to act collectively where they are. Because it’s easier to take action when you’re together!
The evening was also an opportunity to revisit the broad outlines of the ecological crisis and A Rocha’s responses to it, as well as to meet new people over a meal.
The next meeting is scheduled for 15 June to prioritise actions for the coming year.
